We help moms and dads navigate the developmental domains of early childhood.  By describing the behavior of babies, toddlers, and preschoolers in exquisite detail, we help parents learn what to expect, when to expect it, and what to do about it.  When we talk about parenting skills we mean hands-on, specific tools for parents to use in supporting their children’s day-to-day experiences.

MommyGarten Publisher Carly Jennings began working on behalf of new families and their children 23 years ago working for a Member of Congress on Capitol Hill.  Since that time, Carly has served her community as a military wife, an educator in Panama, and a bilingual Kindergarten teacher.

Since becoming a parenting consultant  in 1996, Carly has spent hundreds and hundreds of hours sitting on living room floors, playing with babies, and showing parents how babies learn through every interaction.

Carly is the mother of an award-winning filmmaker, screenwriter, and picky eater who attends Princeton University; and a 16 year-old actress who practiced her craft on grandparents years before she got discovered by an agent.

When the Mommy Wars broke out, Carly declared herself a General in the Baby Brigades.  She has been a Stay-at-Home Mom, a full-time Work-Away-from-Home Mom, and a single mom with two kids, stray cats, a dog, plus a full time job.  Anything involving parenting is a hard  work.  Carly believes that all families deserve support for their efforts.  So let’s call a truce, and just remember what makes it all worthwhile:  a coo de tot.
